What can be done to improve road safety. Ensuring the safety of children on the roads

1. When crossing the street, you should always look left first, and when you reach the middle of the road, look right.

2. You can cross the street only at pedestrian crossings. They are indicated by a special sign “Pedestrian crossing”

3. If there is no underground passage, you must use a passage with a traffic light.

4. Outside settlements Children are only allowed to walk with adults along the edge towards cars.

5. If your parents have forgotten which side to go around the bus or tram, you can remind them that these vehicles It is dangerous to pass both in front and behind. You need to go to the nearest pedestrian crossing and cross the street along it.

6. Under no circumstances should you run out onto the road. You have to stop before the road.

7. You cannot play on the roadway or on the sidewalk.

8. It is safest to cross the street in a group with a group of pedestrians.

1. When driving on the sidewalk:

Keep to the right side of the sidewalk;

Do not lead your child along the edge of the sidewalk: the adult must be on the side of the roadway;

2. When preparing to cross the road:

Stop or slow down and look at the roadway;

Involve your child in observing the situation on the road;

Emphasize your movements: turning your head to look around the street, stopping to look at the road, stopping to let cars pass;

Teach your child to recognize approaching vehicles;

Do not stand with your child on the edge of the sidewalk, as when passing the vehicle can get caught, knocked down, or run over with its rear wheels;

Repeatedly show your child how the vehicle stops at the crossing, how it moves by inertia.

3. When leaving home:

Immediately draw the child’s attention to the movement of vehicles at the entrance and together look to see if a car, motorcycle, moped, or bicycle is approaching you;

If there are vehicles at the entrance or trees growing that block your view, stop your movement and look around to see if there is any danger behind the obstacle.

Stand with children only on landing platforms, and if there are none, on the sidewalk or curb.

Cross the road only at pedestrian crossings or at intersections along the marked zebra line, otherwise the child will get used to crossing wherever he has to;

Don't rush or run; always cross the road at a measured pace;

Do not cross the road diagonally; Emphasize, show and tell your child every time that you are walking strictly across the street, that this is being done for better observation of cars and motor vehicles;

Do not rush to cross the road if you see friends, relatives, or acquaintances on the other side. Don’t rush and don’t run towards them, instill in your child that this is dangerous;

Don't start crossing a street where traffic rarely passes without looking around;

Explain to your child that cars can unexpectedly leave the alley or the yard of the house;

Get out in front of the child, as the baby may fall, and an older child may run out from behind the stopped vehicle onto the roadway;

Approach the vehicle door only after a complete stop: a child, like an adult, can trip and get run over;

Do not take public transport at the last moment when it departs; The front door is especially dangerous, as you can get under the wheels of a vehicle;

Teach your child to be careful in the stop zone dangerous place for him: a standing bus reduces the view of the road in this area.

7. When the car is moving:

Teach children to sit in the car only in the back seat; do not allow anyone to sit next to the driver unless the front seat is equipped with a child seat;

Do not allow a small child to stand in the back seat while driving: in the event of a collision or sudden stop, he may fly over the back of the seat and hit the front window;

Do not allow children to be in the vehicle unattended.

Memo for parents:

What should parents know about their child?

At 3-4 years old a child can distinguish a moving car from a stationary one, but he is sure that the car stops instantly.

At 6 years old - with peripheral vision he sees approximately 2/3 of what adults see; cannot determine what is moving faster: a bicycle or a sports car; does not know how to correctly distribute attention and separate the essential from the insignificant.

At 7 years old - more confidently distinguish the right side of the road from the left.

At 6 years old - with peripheral vision he sees approximately 2/3 of what adults see; cannot determine what is moving faster: a bicycle or a sports car; does not know how to correctly distribute attention and separate the essential from the insignificant.

To ensure the safety of children on the road, parents need to remind them of the rules of safe behavior on the street every day.

For pedestrians:

It's no secret that crossing the road even at a pedestrian crossing in the city can be very difficult. Drivers try to avoid a pedestrian and drive faster, hastily forgetting that, according to the Rules, traffic In the Russian Federation, they are obliged to stop in front of a pedestrian crossing and let the pedestrian pass.

How can you safely cross a zebra crossing without becoming involved in a traffic accident?

First of all, if you or your child are crossing the road at a controlled pedestrian crossing at the permissive (“green”) pedestrian traffic light, then before you start moving, make sure that the drivers have stopped and are allowing you to pass. Only then start moving.

Explain to your child that he should not run or turn back if he is crossing the road and the traffic light turns red at that time. The driver is obliged to let the pedestrian pass so that he reaches the end of the pedestrian crossing. However, you should not pay attention to the sound signals given by some drivers.

Remember that children are unpredictable on the road. As a rule, it is common for children to cross the road at a zebra crossing. If the road consists of several lanes, then after passing one lane, you need to slow down and make sure that the neighboring car has stopped. This is necessary because children are short, and many drivers simply do not notice the children coming out from behind a parked vehicle.

By the way, unexpected exit of a pedestrian due to a standing vehicle is one of the most common causes of accidents. If there is a vehicle parked in front of a pedestrian crossing or on it, the child must go around this vehicle from behind (to the left), because if he gets out of standing car, the driver moving along the road will not be able to brake in time. And if the car passes on the left, it will come into the driver’s line of sight, and he will let it pass.

Stopping is generally, oddly enough, one of the most dangerous places on the road. Guys get into accidents in stop zones even more often than at intersections, and there are several reasons for this. First of all, there is a rush, for example, to catch a bus. In addition, “large-sized” route vehicles standing at a stop cover a fairly large section of the road, along which other cars are quite possibly driving at that moment. Therefore, you need to be especially careful in this situation, take your time and look around carefully. Remember! You cannot pass a bus, tram or trolleybus either in front or behind.

In order to cross the road, you need to walk to the nearest pedestrian crossing. Or, according to at least, wait until the vehicle leaves the stop, make sure it is safe and only then cross the roadway.

A car moving at low speed can also be very deceptive. “The car is driving slowly, I’ll have time to run across,” the student thinks, and gets run over by the wheels. A slow-moving car can also hide behind another one moving at high speed. The way out of this “road trap” is that even if a car is approaching at low speed, you still need to let it pass and be sure to make sure that there are no other cars behind it.

Another typical emergency situation is when a child, having missed a car, immediately runs across the road. The “trap” here is that in the first moments, a car that has just passed often blocks a car moving in the opposite direction - a child can get under it if he immediately runs across the road.

Children often run across a “deserted” street without looking.
On a street where cars rarely appear, children often run out onto the road without looking both ways and get hit by a car. Develop in your child the habit of always stopping before going out onto the road, looking around, listening - and only then crossing the roadway.

Please note that many people now dress in dark colors. In the evening, it is very difficult to distinguish such pedestrians. Therefore, it is recommended, especially for children, to use reflective elements(“flickers”) to be visible to drivers.

For public transport passengers:

When heading into town, children often use public transport. It's no secret that in last years The number of road accidents involving public transport has increased.

How to keep your child safe on public transport? You need to explain to him the following:

You need to wait for transport in a specially designated area, and if there is none, on the sidewalk or side of the road, but away from moving cars, since the roads are slippery and transport can skid.

You can enter and exit the vehicle only after it has stopped completely.

It is dangerous to stand on the running boards while driving, as the automatically closing doors can trap your hands or feet.

Since the safety of passengers largely depends on the actions of the driver, he must see both those who enter and exit the vehicle, and those who are in the cabin. Internal and external mirrors help him with this. However, mirrors cannot cover the entire space both next to and inside the vehicle. For example, due to the fact that the mirror is high, small children often go unnoticed by the driver. They fall into the “dead zone,” that is, into the space that the driver cannot see. The danger of getting into a blind spot also threatens those who come close to the vehicle, both behind it and in front.

If all the seats in the cabin are occupied, you must stand sideways to the direction of travel and be sure to hold on to the handrail or handle of the chair. This way we ensure high stability during sudden changes in transport speed.

Remember! The previous instructions “go around the bus from behind, tram from the front!” no longer in the Traffic Rules. If you need to cross the road after getting out of the vehicle, go to the pedestrian crossing and only cross the roadway along it.

On buses, the safest seats are those next to the aisle (not near the window) and starting from the fourth row, with the exception of the last.

The most unsafe places on the bus are the first two rows of passenger seats, all the side seats near the window and the back row. On regular buses there is an opportunity to buckle up - do not neglect it. The ability to leave the bus on your own after a collision plays a serious role; this is facilitated by being near the aisle.

Passengers of passenger transport:

You need to get into and out of a passenger car only from the sidewalk or curb, waiting until the car comes to a complete stop. Children under 12 years of age must be in a child restraint in a vehicle.

Where is the safest place in the car? IN passenger car

The places next to the driver and behind in the middle are considered dangerous. In a cargo car - in the middle. In a word, road science is not as simple as it seems at first glance. It is not at all limited to elementary rules like “cross the road only on green light

" In fact, there are a lot of “traps” and unexpected situations awaiting us on the road, which are often difficult for even an adult to navigate, not to mention the youngest road users. Therefore, in order to avoid unpleasant situations, it is necessary to constantly explain to the child what can happen in a given situation if he violates the Traffic Rules, and of course, show by personal example that the Traffic Rules must be followed.

Information for parents and teachers on the topic “Teaching children the rules of personal safety on the street and road”

Traffic Laws Every year, hundreds of traffic accidents occur on the roads and streets of cities and villages, as a result of which dozens of children die and hundreds are injured and injured. That is why road traffic injuries remain a priority problem of society that requires solutions state level

, with everyone's participation and the most effective.

You need to start studying traffic rules and the basics of road safety as early as possible, i.e. in children's preschool institutions, and consolidate at school - at a practical level. The formation of special skills in transport observation and traffic movements in children best occurs in the family, but reaching out to the family is, oh, how not easy it is. A kindergarten or school “organizes” parents; they are there every day and walk the children’s way from kindergarten home every day. This path should become the “testing ground” where mothers, grandmothers, and fathers will daily teach their children to behave competently in transport. All that remains is for the parents themselves to be ready for this. And in order for parents to be ready, kindergarten and school teachers must be ready first!

The school pays special attention to joint work to ensure road safety for teachers and parents, the goal of our work is: “Together with parents - for the safety of children on the roads.” Class teachers, educators conduct conversations with parents at meetings, with children at classroom hours, lessons, activities. When teaching a child the Rules of the Road, an adult must himself understand them well and always consistently follow them on the road.

Remember:

1. Pedestrians are allowed to walk only on sidewalks, keeping to the right.

2. Where there are no sidewalks, you need to walk along the edge of the roadway, along the left edge of the road, facing traffic in order to see moving traffic and move to the side in time.

3. Pedestrians are required to cross the street only at pedestrian crossings, with marked lines or a “pedestrian crossing” sign, and not at intersections with unmarked crossings - along the sidewalk line.

4. Before leaving on the roadway in two-way traffic, you must make sure that you are completely safe.

5. It is prohibited for moving vehicles to cross the path or step out onto the roadway from behind vehicles.

6. At crossing points where traffic is regulated, pedestrians must cross the street only when the traffic light is green or the traffic controller gives permission (when he turns sideways towards us).

7. In places where crossings are not marked and where traffic is not regulated, pedestrians must in all cases give way to approaching traffic. It is prohibited to cross the street near circular or sharp turn.

Rules for cycling

1. Bicycles (roller skates) can only be ridden on the sidewalk; You cannot drive onto the roadway of the street or yard.

2. While riding, children must behave correctly towards passers-by: sound the horn in time, take precautions (slow down when passing small children, women with children, elderly people).

3. In case of bruise or injury when falling from a bicycle or scooter, you must immediately contact an adult to provide first aid.

“Tips for parents on following traffic rules”

Any rule that is stated in a boring, uninteresting, edifying manner is difficult for a child to perceive. Therefore, not only in kindergarten educators, but also at home, it is better for parents to play with their children, learn funny rhymes with them, read fairy tales to them, which contain thoughts, rules, and teachings that need to be instilled in the child.

Appeals

Our propaganda is important and clear to everyone -

Remember it and stick to it.

We appeal to everyone:

"Save your life and mine"

"Be careful

Look at the road
And in the storm and in the rain,

And into the snow.

Hold the child

Keep an eye on the child

Take care of the children

Human!"

“Knowledge of traffic rules to the masses!”

The main danger is a standing car!

A stationary car is dangerous: it can block another car that is moving at high speed, making it difficult to notice the danger in time. You cannot go out onto the road because of parked cars. As a last resort, you need to carefully look out from behind a standing car, make sure that there is no danger, and only then cross the road.

Do not go around a stationary bus, either in front or behind!

A stationary bus blocks a section of the road along which a car can pass at the moment when you decide to cross it. In addition, people near the bus stop are usually in a hurry and forget about safety. From the stop you need to move towards the nearest pedestrian crossing.

Know how to anticipate hidden dangers!

A car may unexpectedly drive out from behind a parked car, house, fence, bushes, etc. To cross the road, you need to choose a place where the road is visible in both directions. As a last resort, you can carefully look out from behind the obstacle, make sure that there is no danger, and only then cross the road.

The car is approaching slowly, but you still have to let it pass.

A slow moving car can hide behind a car going at high speed. A child often does not suspect that another car may be hidden behind one car.

And at a traffic light you can meet danger.

Today on city roads we are constantly faced with car drivers violating traffic rules: driving at high speed, ignoring traffic lights and crossing signs. Therefore, it is not enough to teach children how to navigate when the traffic light is green; it is necessary to make sure that there is no danger. Children often reason like this: “The cars are still standing, the drivers see me and will let me through.” They are wrong.

Children often run across a “deserted” street without looking.

On a street where cars rarely appear, children run out onto the road without first inspecting it and get hit by a car. Develop in your child the habit of always stopping before going out onto the road, looking around, listening - and only then crossing the street.

When outside, hold your child's hand tightly!

Being next to an adult, the child relies on him and either does not watch the road at all or does not watch well. An adult does not take this into account. On the street, children are distracted by all sorts of objects and sounds, not noticing a moving car, and thinking that the path is clear, they break away from the hands of an adult and run across the road. When crossing the road, you should hold your child's hand tightly.

Remember!

The child learns the laws of the street, following the example of you, parents, and other adults. Let your example teach disciplined behavior on the street not only to your child, but also to other children. Cross the road, observing the traffic rules.

Memo for drivers and parents

Take care of your children!

By protecting our children, we take care of our future. Adults are responsible for the life of every child

Considering demographic trends in Russia, the death of 1,525 children last year under the wheels of cars means the loss of about 40 thousand Russians in the next century.

If a child has violated traffic rules, this does not mean that only he is to blame. The safety of children is primarily the concern of adults, who have a built-in need to help children cope with the complexities of the world around them. It is we who must teach them and protect them from tragedies on the road.

Before asking your child if he knows the rules of the road, ask yourself this question. Remember that children first of all learn from their parents, adults, imitate them, copy them. Parents must not only know the traffic rules, follow them, and teach them. Children, but also to make sure that their children have the necessary skills for behavior on the street to constantly prepare them for independent safe movement on roads and streets.

Child road traffic injuries are a disaster, often a tragedy. But by no means a force of nature - and means for prevention child traumatism there are, tested and effective. There is such a warning sign - “Children”. It is installed where special attention is required from the driver. Constant attention and unflagging care are required from parents, educators and teachers, all adults.

In almost all situations, when a child makes a mistake on the road, he has a chance of salvation. This chance is in the hands of drivers, all adults who are obliged to understand the psychology of a child’s behavior in various road situations, to know and follow the Traffic Rules, as well as recommendations for the safe movement of children.

Remember: the health and life of children is in our hands!

Memo for parents on traffic rules

1. Parents need to constantly remind their children about the rules of behavior on the road. It is advisable to purchase educational children's books and videos.

2. Before you start school year before September 1, parents are required to go with their child through

3. When traveling by car or bus, be sure to use child seats and seat belts.

4. When transporting small children, maneuver carefully and smoothly without sudden movements.

5. When driving a car, bus, when you pass by kindergartens, schools, various children's institutions, slow down in advance, be more careful and do not forget that you can expect anything from children.

6. It is necessary to use reflective devices on children’s clothing.

7. The most important rule is to set an example for children and not break traffic rules in the presence of children.

Reminder for pedestrians

1. Pedestrians must move only on sidewalks. If they are not there, go along the left side of the road, facing the traffic.

2. You can cross the roadway only in certain places—at a pedestrian crossing. If a pedestrian crossing is regulated by a traffic light, remember that only a “green” traffic light signal allows movement. The "red" signal is prohibitive.

3. If there is no pedestrian crossing within sight (for example, on a highway), you must choose a safe place to cross - one where the road is clearly visible in both directions. It is important that not only you see the road clearly, but that you are also visible to any driver.

4. Before crossing, be sure to stop, look around and listen. If a car is approaching, let it pass. Do not enter the roadway until you are sure that you have enough time to cross.

5. It is necessary to cross the roadway at a right angle at a fast pace (Do not run!).

6. When crossing the street, continue to monitor the road in order to notice a change in the situation in time. Don't be distracted by talking with friends or on your cell phone.

7. Don’t forget that obstructions to your view - standing cars, buses, bushes, snowdrifts, bends in the road - are the cause of half of the accidents with pedestrians. Proceed to the nearest pedestrian crossing or to a clearly visible section of the road in both directions.

8. Remember that it is dangerous to bypass a bus standing at a stop both in front and behind, because you will be invisible to drivers of other vehicles. Cross the road only when the stopped bus leaves the stop.

9. In the dark, it is advisable to have reflective elements on your clothes or bag - you will become visible to drivers from afar.

Memo for a young pedestrian

1. Do not cross the street or road in front of nearby traffic, and do not allow others to do this.

2. Do not play games on the roads and streets. Don't cling to passing traffic.

3. Do not walk on the roadway - it is intended for transport. You need to walk on the sidewalk or pedestrian paths, sticking to the right side - you won’t bother anyone there. If there are no pedestrian paths, walk only on the left side of the road facing traffic.

4. Before crossing a street or road, make sure that the crossing is completely safe.

5. Strictly obey the signals of a traffic light or a policeman.

6. Cross the road only straight, and not diagonally, in the same place where there are pedestrian paths.

7. When using public transport, follow the order of boarding and exit.

8. Be attentive to others: if a person has fallen, help them get up, help the old and weak cross the street; if you are asked to show the way, explain calmly and intelligently; give up your seat to elders on public transport.

Holidays are the time when greatest number children and adolescents have the least control from adults. First of all, we mean winter, spring, and autumn holidays.

The holidays coincide with a period of significant changes in nature and difficult weather conditions. Still winter-cold winds, snow, ice, and temperature changes create additional difficulties for drivers on the roads.

Every year, a surge in child road traffic injuries is recorded during school holidays.

The peculiarities of the season should be discussed with children. Temperature fluctuations, type of precipitation, length of daylight hours, visibility on roads during snowfall, winds - all this affects the road transport situation. This point must be carefully discussed with children, because The poor condition of roads, streets, and courtyards is a source of increased danger to the life and health of children.

The main rule for pedestrians in any season is caution and caution again.

Protect the lives of children!

Being a pedestrian is a lot of responsibility. Road traffic is a complex process, but its safety depends on the actions of each person. Children must strictly follow traffic rules. It is especially important to know how to behave on the street, cross the road and know the rules for pedestrians. Let the children firmly remember not to be naughty on the road! All girls and boys need to learn the RULES:

Memo for students:

The one who goes to school and back only according to the rules does the right thing! The child must know and anticipate any traffic situation. And only adults can teach this.

Remember! To avoid accidents on the road, you must always be attentive and careful, know and follow the rules of the road. This will save your health and life.

Memo for parents

"Prevention of child road traffic injuries"

Causes of child road traffic injuries:
. Failure to Observe
. Inattention
. Insufficient adult supervision of children's behavior
When leaving home:

If there is possible movement at the entrance of the house, immediately pay attention to the child to see if there is any approaching traffic. If there are vehicles parked at the entrance or trees growing, stop your movement and look around to see if there is any danger.

When driving on the sidewalk:
. Keep to the right
. An adult must be on the side of the roadway
. If the sidewalk is next to the road, parents should hold the child's hand.
. Teach your child, when walking along the sidewalk, to carefully watch cars leaving the yard.
. Do not teach children to go out onto the roadway; push strollers and sleds only on the sidewalk.
When preparing to cross the road:
. Stop and look at the roadway.
. Develop your child's observation of the road.
. Emphasize your movements: turning your head to inspect the road, stopping to inspect the road, stopping to let cars pass.
. Teach your child to peer into the distance and distinguish between approaching cars.
. Do not stand with your child on the edge of the sidewalk.
. Draw the child’s attention to the vehicle preparing to turn, talk about the turn signal signals on cars.
. Show how the vehicle stops at the crossing, how it moves by inertia.
When crossing the roadway:
. Cross the road only at a pedestrian crossing or at an intersection.
. Go only when the traffic light is green, even if there are no cars.
. When going out onto the roadway, stop talking.
. Don't rush, don't run, cross the road calmly.
. Do not cross the road at an angle; explain to your child that this makes it harder to see the road.
. Do not go out onto the roadway with your child because of traffic or bushes without first inspecting the street.
. Don’t rush to cross the road, if on the other side you see friends, the right bus, teach your child that this is dangerous.
. When crossing an uncontrolled intersection, teach your child to carefully monitor the start of traffic.
. Explain to your child that even on a road where there are few cars, you must cross carefully, as a car may drive out of the yard or alley.
When boarding and disembarking from transport:
. Get out first, in front of the child, otherwise the child may fall or run out onto the roadway.
. Approach the door to board only after coming to a complete stop.
. Do not get on transport at the last moment (you may get pinched by the doors).
. Children should be careful in the stopping area - this is a dangerous place (poor view of the road, passengers can push the child onto the road).
While waiting for transport:
. Stand only on landing areas, sidewalks or curbs.
Recommendations for developing street behavior skills:
. Street Switching Skill: When approaching the road, look around the street in both directions.
. The skill of calm, confident behavior on the street: when leaving home, do not be late, leave in advance so that you have some time to spare when walking calmly.
. The skill of switching to self-control: the ability to monitor one’s behavior is developed daily under the guidance of parents.
. Danger anticipation skill: the child must see with his own eyes what the different objects There is often danger lurking on the street.
It is important for parents to be an example for children
in compliance with traffic rules!
. Take your time, cross the road at a measured pace.
. When going out onto the roadway, stop talking - the child must get used to the fact that when crossing the road you need to concentrate.
. Do not cross the road when the traffic light is red or yellow.
. Cross the road only in places marked with a “Pedestrian Crossing” road sign.
. Get off the bus, trolleybus, tram, taxi first. IN otherwise a child may fall or run onto the road.
. Invite your child to participate in your observations of the situation on the road: show him those cars that are preparing to turn, driving at high speed, etc.
. Do not leave with your child from behind a car or bushes without first checking the road - this is typical mistake, and children should not be allowed to repeat it.

Do not allow children to play near roads or on the roadway.

School activities to ensure road safety:

In order to promote traffic rules, the school is working on studying traffic rules.

A YID (Young Traffic Inspectors) detachment was created on the basis of the school, and a traffic rules stand was equipped.

Every year the school hosts:

Information on parent meetings on safe road traffic:

  • September - “Safe approach to school”, the “Attention, children!” campaign, issuing reminders to parents on the prevention of road traffic injuries:
  • October - analysis of accidents on the roads of the region
  • December - the campaign "Safe Holidays or Correct New Year", "Safe transportation of children"

15.11. Our school held an event dedicated to the Day of Remembrance for Road Accident Victims.

World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims is celebrated annually on the third Sunday in November. This year this day falls on 11/17.

On this day, it is customary to honor the memory of all victims of road accidents who will never return home.

A radio line-up was held, and all students honored the memory of the victims with a minute of silence.

The YID team has prepared a propaganda poster, which will be located in the school’s recreation area, to urge everyone to be careful on the roads.

About 100 people took part in the flash mob.

We want to encourage everyone, both adults and children

"Always be careful

Whether you are a driver or a pedestrian!

Children's safety on the road primarily depends on us, adults, on how well we teach children the rules of the road and whether they will be attentive to all the threats that are so many around.

It is clear that children do not know how, like adults, analyze the movement of vehicles by noise level, or estimate distances, speed and direction by eye. Therefore, it is very important that the child knows the basic rules of behavior on the road long before the moment when he begins to walk along local and city streets unaccompanied by adults.

What should a child know about traffic rules?

  1. Explain to your child why you need to pay attention to certain things while being outside. This refers not only to obvious threats, such as a car driver speeding, but also less obvious ones, such as cars that suddenly come around the corner of a house, or the fact that drivers do not always stop even when they see pedestrians moving. along the pedestrian crossing. By explaining the reasons for vigilance and giving examples of when to be especially attentive, you help your child understand why what is expected of him is important and what the consequences of neglecting basic rules may be.
  2. Teach your child basic pedestrian behavior while you're walking with him. Always stick to road rules, explain to the child, using an example, why it is necessary to do this or that way, how to act in non-standard situations. Thus, by the time the child begins to move around the city without your accompaniment, no rules or situations should put him in an incomprehensible position.
  1. Instill in your child the habit of stopping before crossing the road. Every time he stops, remind him to look around and listen, not to approach from an area out of sight.
  2. At the same time, we note that it is important not only to rely on your hearing alone, since many modern vehicles drive very quietly. It is worth using both hearing and vision to check for safety.

    Test the child’s knowledge: ask questions, model the situation, checking the child’s reaction and actions to them, adjust if necessary.

    1. Let your child learn to make eye contact with the driver before crossing the road. This way he can be sure that the driver noticed his presence.

    This may not be possible, as some vehicles are too tinted or too tall for a child to see the person in the driver's seat, but it is still a safety method.

    1. Teach your child to understand what traffic signals and colors mean and strictly adhere to these rules. Also explain the meaning of the main road signs when you are walking together on the street.

    The sooner you start teaching your child this, the better he will remember and he will not have the desire to circumvent these rules.

    Use games to guess the meaning of signs.

    1. Teach your child to be careful when passing uncontrolled intersections, near driveways, turns, and alleys. Remind that when reversing, the driver does not see the people crossing the street as well as those in front, sometimes the driver does not even slow down to make sure there are no pedestrians. Insist that it is always important to be vigilant on the road, even if no one appears to be nearby.

    For explanation various situations use toy cars, you can buy a special set for playing on the road - this way, in a playful way, you can master the rules of behavior not only in typical cases on the road, but also consider non-standard and force majeure situations that may arise.

    1. Make sure your child clearly understands the dangers of crossing between parked cars. Explain to him that this cannot be done, since he does not have the opportunity to see in time a car that may be driving along the road at that time.

    Also explain to your child that running along the road trying to cross it faster is very dangerous.

    1. Teach your child to cross the road only when pedestrian crossing, even if the transition is far away.

    Explain that it is always better to take the time to ensure your safety than to suffer due to unnecessary haste.

    Be careful on the roads yourself and don’t forget to make sure your children are safe! God saves man, who save himself!
